Join us as we read subversive books and learn critical thinking! Our Kids’ Banned Book Club meets the first Saturday of every month from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. We meet at our church at 3205 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, 43614. We will have a snack and discuss the books’ themes, meaning, symbolism, and why the books are important today. Adults are welcome to watch the discussion or relax in a nearby sitting room. Please email our Director of Lifelong Learning, Gini Gottman, at dll@uutoledo.org with any questions you might have.

Our next meeting will be on August 5, 2023 at 10:00 to discuss The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. Scholastic recommends this book for ages 8-13 and grade levels 3-7. Join us as we discuss the book’s themes of loyalty, hope, trust and the fight between good and evil! We will snack on Turkish delight, which is the cursed candy that the White Witch gave to Edmund. (Our Turkish delight will not be cursed.) Hope to see you there!
